Alan Thompson
Chief Executive Officer
Alan Thompson is CEO at Xora and brings extensive leadership experience from his tenure at Temasek where he held key roles, including Joint Head of Emerging Technologies, Joint Head of Private Equity Fund Investments, Senior Managing Director in the Enterprise Development Group, and Managing Director of Telecommunications and Media. He also helped establish Temasek’s offices in Brazil and Mexico during his three years in São Paulo as Managing Director, Latin America.
Alan also serves as an Operating Partner at Temasek International in the Emerging Technologies team and holds board positions at GenZero, Avanda Investment Management, and Infosys Compaz.
Before joining Temasek in 2004, Alan was a Partner at Stern Stewart & Co., leading engagements across Southeast Asia, Australia, and South Africa. He also brings ten years of operational experience in South Africa’s high-tech sector, with a focus on computer design, software engineering, systems engineering, and executive management, alongside private equity experience in a major banking group.
He holds an MBA, a Graduate Diploma in Engineering, and a B.Sc. in Engineering (Electrical), from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
