Candice Ong

Candice Ong is Partner & Chief Operating Officer at Xora, where in addition to her role in investments, she oversees the firm’s operational management. Candice is keen on using her experience in scaling global startups to support entrepreneurs, particularly those leveraging AI to transform physical industries.

With over a decade of startup leadership experience, Candice spent six years as Chief Commercial Officer at Shopback, one of APAC’s fastest-growing tech startups, where she managed marketing and P&L across multiple geographies. Before that, she rose quickly through the ranks at Rocket Internet to become Regional Managing Director at Zalora, where she oversaw marketing and category management, helping scale Zalora into Southeast Asia’s largest fashion e-commerce platform.

Candice began her career in investment banking with Barclays in New York, specializing in derivatives and convertible bonds, before transitioning to equity capital markets at Credit Suisse in Southeast Asia. In 2020, she was featured in the inaugural "Singapore 100 Women in Tech" list and currently serves as a Board Member for Enterprise Singapore, Pick Network, and Action Community for Entrepreneurship.

Candice has a B.Sc. in Finance and Management from the University of Virginia and was part of the 70th cohort for the Stanford Executive Program (SEP).
